Award for Western Australian Woody PhD

Murdoch University PhD student, Ali Babington, has received an award from the Royal Society of Western Australia for her Woody Meadow research, which she recently presented in a poster to the John Glover Symposium.

Ali is investigating human preference for Woody Meadow attributes as the health benefits of engaging with nature have been found to be positively linked to landscape preferences. More aesthetic plantings are also more likely to gain community support. Ali has used a survery approach combined with Woody Meadow plantings in suburban Perth and is supervised by Dr Claire Farrell, University of Melbourne.
